I'm glad to contribute to the health of the economy. And nobody can do everything, or else you'd be raising your own crops instead of buying produce at the store.
When I did pest control, you wouldn't believe how many times I went to an initial start only to find evidence that the homeowners tried to take care of it themselves and completely botched the job (of course they did, or they wouldn't have called a professional).
Sometimes it was amusing, like when I'd see mousetraps out in the middle of the floor baited with pieces of processed American cheese. Made me wonder if these people also thought mice wore hats and bow ties and had little beds made out of matchboxes inside the house's wall.
But sometimes it made my job harder, like when they tried to treat bedbugs with diatomaceous earth, or caused roaches to spread to other rooms because they were spraying them, which causes them to run elsewhere.
