I'm featuring this one mostly because of the animation. It's funny and adorable, and always makes me smile.
But a word about the music, too. It's just a bit of fluff, with a nice bouncy tune and a woman with a funny voice dueting with a man with a growly, New Orleans-style jazzy voice. But the instrumentalists really have it all together, and very often the artistry behind a song is lost in the fact that it's just a fun piece.
Some music is serious music. A Mass or a Requiem, and even modern ballads and sad songs are meant to be taken seriously. And some music is just fun. A rollicking jig or a bouncy Ragtime piano piece or a song like Monkey Rag here, for instance. They're meant to be fun and to make us feel good. But there's still musicianship behind all of it. The hours of practicing and playing and performing and getting to a point where it comes naturally and you can let the fun shine through is not always appreciated when we listen to a piece like this. But it's there. It has to be there, or it wouldn't be as fun as it is.
