According to a coworker who was able to attend this hearing, the prosecutor came out swinging. I hope that continues through the trial. If they agree to a plea bargain instead of trial, I hope they go hard. It will never be enough, of course, because no punishment will give us Kyara and Maelynn back.
This coming Friday, 09/25/2026, is Kyara's due date, the date she should have been welcoming - or about to welcome because let's face it babies come when they want to - her little girl and getting to hold her in her arms, something she'd been excitedly waiting for. It's going to be a hard day for us. Friday, 10/09/2026, we will be saying our final goodbyes at their memorial service. It's going to be so difficult for the many who loved Kyara and Maelynn, but I pray it brings us all a measure of peace. Please, keep her family, friends, and those many, many, many of us who loved her and her baby girl in your thoughts and prayers.
